BREAKING: Man Killed in Crash Near San Pablo Reservoir Identified as Pinole Resident

A man who died in a head-on crash near the San Pablo Reservoir on Friday evening has been identified by the Contra Costa County coroner’s office as 56-year-old Pinole resident Cedric Byron Harris. Harris died in the crash reported at 5:20 p.m. Friday on San Pablo Dam Road near Tri Lane, according to the California Highway Patrol.

He was driving a 2003 Cadillac west at about 45 mph and for some reason went into the eastbound lane and struck a 2003 Mitsubishi head-on, CHP officials said. The Mitsubishi driver and her three passengers all suffered minor to moderate injuries and were taken to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, according to the CHP.
