Tom Bekeny is a mandolinist equally at home playing bluegrass and jazz. He has been a mainstay of the straight-ahead jazz group, the Missing Man Quartet, for nearly 20 years and released a jazz CD in 2014 entitled “Jazzolin”. Tom’s jazz friends are all well-established Bay Area jazz veterans. The band plays original arrangements of jazz standards and explores the diverse sources and styles of jazz…from Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, Django Reinhardt, and Great American Songbook, to blues, bebop, ballads, bossa, and Latin.

Meditation outdoors is an incredible way to nourish and slow down. The elements, the feeling of air on your skin, the sounds of birds and the tall beautiful trees — all of it supports us in connecting with spaciousness, our hearts, and ease, even in the midst of a city.
When: Saturdays, 10–11am PST
Where: Meet by the benches near the Clubhouse, Arlington Park, El Cerrito We start with light stretching, followed by walking meditation and end with sitting meditation.&nbsp;
Please note: sessions are canceled in wet weather.

Their lively, positive, good vibes infect audience members to not only dance but to sing along in unison. Guitar, ukuleles, mandolin, tin whistles, bass and drum are usually on board, giving crowds a fresh sound as their maritime-themed lyrics speak to the people of today. Ray Gorson – He is a jazz guitarist who has played with many bands as well as a solo artist in concerts, restaurants, parties, and clubs. A few highlights include shows at Glide Memorial (SF), Cafe Au Go Go (NYC), Boston Gardens, and The Catacombs in Boston, as well as concerts in France and Austria.
Dave Franklin – He’s a jazz bassist who studied at the Berkeley Jazz Conservatory. Dave has played gigs in Richmond, Alameda, Oakland, for about 15 years now. He has played fundraisers for non-profits and nursing homes in the Oakland area as well as non-profits in Greece and the Netherlands.
Eric Nelson – He’s an Alto/Tenor/Baritone jazz saxophonist. Eric has played in several SF/Bay area jazz/blues and funk bands. For the last 20 years. This included 11 member band, (JamFunkShus), which included a 5 piece horn section. Playing 70’s/80’s songs by Tower of Power and Earth wind and Fire, etc…Playing gigs all over San Francisco Bay Area. This included corporate gigs, weddings, night clubs as well as festivals.
Katie Hawn – Katie is a jazz drummer based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Katie studied with Bay Area drummer Wally Schnalle for seven years while growing up. She has played local gigs in Richmond, CA, and San Jose Jazz Summer Fest with the Poblano Project in 2008 and 2009.

The Rough Edges are a classic rock cover band playing songs that you know and love from the 1960s and 1970s. We specialize in high energy, fun-loving songs that played on the radio during that classic era of rock music, but perhaps didn’t peak at number one. So, the songs jog the memory and get you grooving, but don’t feel played out. Our five-piece band, including our array of vocalists, provides a very full sound for your listening pleasures. We are all friends and bring a warmth and sense of fun to our live shows. The Rough Edges are: Juliana Birnbaum (vocals, percussion), Frank Gilbert (guitar), Harry Gray (guitar, vocals), Michael Hanna (bass, vocals) and Neil Sachs (drums, vocals).
