Following the paths of Townes Van Zandt, John Prine &amp; Gram Parsons, Gabriel is a modern-day troubadour playing Cosmic American Music. Native to Charlottesville, Virginia, and a longtime Bay Area resident, he has become increasingly migratory. To pay the rent, he’s worked as a housepainter, cook, shepherd, bartender, dockworker at a lobsterman’s co-op, and camera operator. But whatever his day/night job, and wherever on earth it finds him, he is writing songs. These songs, deceptively clad in the guise of country-folk, are glimpses into a far-gone world, variously mournful and raucous, cozy and surreal. The campaign to support his album Sir Dude Man &amp; the Wandering Blues has brought him to Point Reyes, CA, San Francisco, Santa Cruz, Richmond, VA, Charlottesville, New Orleans, Detroit, Kalamazoo &amp; Grand Rapids, MI.

Sharing a love for traditional bluegrass music, Hydra-Matic Drive is a group of dedicated and experienced players who truly enjoy making music together. Featuring Mike Wilhoyte on guitar, Tom Bekeny on mandolin, Avram Siegel on banjo, and Karen Wilhoyte on bass, this band has a contagious groove and features exciting instrumental breaks and tight harmonies that are sure to please. Named after the first automatic transmission introduced in the 1940 model Oldsmobiles, and like the transmission, this band drives and shifts with a clear smooth sound.

We are a six piece band with a big sounds that rocks and gets the crowd dancing. We feature guitars, bass, drums, keyboard and tenor saxophone. We play a wide variety of covers, including songs by the Grateful Dead, BB King, Robert Johnson, Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Dylan and Creedence. Our lead guitarist, John Magee, is a very impressive guitar player who can play a very soulful blues, rock an iconic Hendrix lead or play mesmerizing slide. Also in the band are Jeff Eckber (keys), Dan Harris (bass), Joe Mockus (drums), Joe Supple (vocals and rhythm guitar),and Steve Zieff (tenor sax).
