Smooth rock and pop are what we feature in our show. We focus on great vocals and harmonies. Good Emotions has 3 lead singers who lead other bands, and get together because we love singing together. Can add a cajon ( drum box ) player for acoustic gigs that can benefit from a little snappy rhythm. Play Beatles, Crosby Stills and Nash, Mamas and Papas, and other great songs from the 60s thru the 90s that our fans love.

Viva La Vida with Excerpts from P1N0CCH10 & Carmilla features new works and a returning Oceánica Ballet autumn tradition. Act 1 premieres selections from two upcoming story ballets. P1N0CCH10, a retelling of Carlo Collodi's classic tale of Pinocchio, explores humanity, artificial intelligence, and our relationship with the natural world. Carmilla, an adaptation of Sheridan Le Fanu's groundbreaking sapphic vampire novella, stages a mysterious masquerade ball.
Act II features the return of Viva La Vida, the original story of Lucio and Lupita in a joyful folklórico-infused tale about transcending loss and the resilience of love, inspired by Día de los Muertos. In this “celebration of life, loved ones and culture,” writes Jocelyn Tong of the Daily Californian, “mythic creatures from the land of the dead … [lead to] twirled scarves and snapped-open fans …in a story of homecoming.” Throughout all three stories, the wisdom of women across time and cultures is amplified.
The San Mateo County Community College District in California, responsible for the College of San Mateo Theatre, is committed to ensuring an inclusive and equitable environment for all, where programs and services are accessible to everyone, regardless of ability. John Pettley, a professional land surveyor for over 38 years, talks about the significance of his amazing find in 1987. At the time, John was a surveying student at California State University at Fresno, and working on his senior thesis, when he made an important discovery about the history of the survey marks atop Mount Diablo.
On July 18, 1851, Col. Leander Ransom of the General Land Office (GLO) labored through thick brush, steep terrain, and harsh summer heat to establish the initial point on the highest rock at the summit of Mount Diablo in Contra Costa County. There he chiseled a hole in the rock and erected a pole with a large flag that could be seen for miles from the surrounding countryside. The grid lines intersected at the Initial Point on the summit of the mountain.
This mapping grid was extended to cover most of Northern California and all of Nevada and was used in deeds to describe the property boundaries in those areas. References to this system are found in numerous property deeds even to this day.
Step back in time with us as we hear the fascinating story of John’s journey in rediscovering this important piece of California and Nevada history!
Doors open at 4:00 p.m. John’s talk begins at 4:30 p.m.

Lonesome Eddie and the Saddle Sores is a music- and harmony-lovers country band based in Lafayette/Berkeley featuring Lonesome Eddie on pedal steel. The band members are a playful group of talented musicians and singers who light up the stage with a nice blend of slow and upbeat songs. The present Lonesome Eddie and the Saddle Sores country band was formed in 2013 by Lonesome Eddie and Austin Hurst when the rock & roll band that they had played in for 30+ years, Soft Touch, was ready for something new. The band includes a few other Soft Touch veterans and some new members. The band’s aim is to preserve the sound of classic country and country-rock styles, performing a mix of well-known country songs along with originals and tunes from other genres reinterpreted with a country flavor. https://www.lonesomeedditandthesaddlesores.com
