Caller Helps Police Arrest Burglary Suspect: Emeryville

The caller stayed on the phone with dispatchers who relayed the info to officers looking for the suspect.

EMERYVILLE, CA — Police arrested a suspect who tried to burglarize a home Sunday evening in Emeryville, police said.

At 7:14 p.m., officers responded to a condominium building at 203 Liquid Sugar Drive after someone called police to report a home burglary in progress.

According to police, the suspect was allegedly on balconies trying to open doors into residences.

The caller stayed on the phone with dispatchers to provide updates on the suspect's location while police arrived at the scene.

When officers located the suspect, he allegedly resisted arrest.

The officers eventually managed to detain the suspect, and he was arrested on suspicion of prowling, attempted residential burglary and possessing drugs, police said.
