Calling All Artists: City Hall's Gallery May Want You
The City of El Cerrito has issued a "Call to Artists" for those who wish to display their work in the second-floor Gallery Space at City Hall.
Local artists interested in having their work exhibited at El Cerrito are invited by the city to submit proposals for consideration by the Arts and Culture Commission.
The deadline for those who wish to have their work considered by the commission at its next review of exhibition proposals is May 6, according to city Community Outreach Specialist Suzanne Iarla in a news release Saturday.
The commission reviews exhibition applications from artists twice a year, and artists can submit proposals anytime, Iarla said. But if they want to be considered at the next review, they should submit their proposals by 4 p.m. May 6, she said.

The city's Gallery Space is a wall on one side of an elevated passageway that overlooks the main lobby of City Hall. It has been used for rotating exhibitions since 2008.
The current exhibit by artist Jeanne Rehrig comes down Monday.
