Earth Day Clean-Up: Sign-Up Now

And bring your appetite to the community luncheon following the clean-up!

EL CERRITO, CA — The City of El Cerrito will host its annual Earth Day celebration on Saturday, April 13, 2019, with morning work parties across town starting at 9 a.m., followed by a volunteer appreciation luncheon at the El Cerrito Community Center from noon to 1:30 p.m.

The City of El Cerrito welcomes volunteers to:

• Help tidy parks
• Pick up litter to help reduce the amount of trash that ends up in our creeks, waterways and the
Bay
• Remove invasive plants from the Hillside Nature Area
• and more!

As in previous years, the City expects hundreds of volunteers to participate. Individuals, families and groups can register online or by email to participate in a work party. Advance registration is available online or by email to earthday@ci.el-cerrito.ca.us.

If you prefer, you can also report to the Earth Day Registration table at the El Cerrito Community Center (7007 Moeser Lane) on April 13 for a complete list of activities to select a work activity for the day.

The City provides volunteers with gloves, bags, and tools for their work party activity.

Following the work parties, the City will host a free lunch at the El Cerrito Community Center from noon to 1:30 p.m. to celebrate Earth Day together. During lunchtime, there will be informational tables, a demonstration by El Cerrito Creative ReUse Artist in Residence Erin McCluskey Wheeler, an art activity hosted by the Arts & Culture Commission, an upcycling event for kids, and a seedling giveaway by the El Cerrito Community Garden Network.
