El Cerrito Coronavirus: City Numbers Breakout

EL CERRITO, CA — El Cerrito residents now have a clear idea of how widely coronavirus is circulating in the community. Contra Costa Health Services has begun breaking down the number of confirmed cases by city. On Monday, there are just 4 cases here, one of the lowest totals in the county.

In CoCo, there are 28 new cases in the last 24 hours.

Here are the cities with the most cases:

1. Richmond: 37
2. Orinda: 35
3. Pittsburg: 32
4. Concord: 30
5. Walnut Creek: 27

The community with the smallest number of cases is Bethel Island, with just one. Clayton, El Cerrito, and Pinole each have four.

The health department has not specified where deaths have occurred in the county. The death toll for CoCo rose to 7.

In Alameda County, the death toll rose Monday to 13.

Gov. Gavin Newsom announced Saturday that the state has launched a one-stop website to streamline donations or sales of critical supplies needed to fight the novel coronavirus outbreak.

The covid19supplies.ca.gov site lists 13 in-demand items, from ventilators to hand sanitizer, needed by hospitals and first responders around the state.

Individuals and companies can donate, sell or offer to manufacture the supplies, Newsom said during his daily briefing.
