El Cerrito High School Receives Scholarship Money
Blood Centers of the Pacific donated money to 13 high schools that had blood donors.

EL CERRITO, CA — Blood Centers of the Pacific has awarded more than $3,000 total in scholarships to Bay Area high schools as part of its Heroes For Life program, the organization said, including to El Cerrito High School.
To participate in the program, each school must hold at least two blood drives during the school year, the organization said. The scholarship is awarded on behalf of the school to the student's financial aid account.
The amount awarded to the student is based upon the number of donations made during the year, up to a maximum of $1,000. A representative from each participating school sets the criteria for the scholarship recipient and chooses who receives the scholarship. The students who get the scholarship don't have to be blood donors.
