El Cerrito Man Involved In Fatal Crash After Breathalyzer Test: Report
CHP says an El Cerrito man got back behind the wheel after he failed a breathalyzer test as a passenger and officers drove him home.

EL CERRITO, CA — An El Cerrito man is behind bars for allegedly killing a passenger with his car while driving intoxicated, the Bay Area News Group reported. Nipun Ajmani, 42, crashed his car after being stopped at a DUI checkpoint as a passenger.
The California Highway Patrol told Bay Area News that they stopped Ajmani and another driver at a DUI checkpoint at around 2:20 a.m. on March 12. Officers found that the driver of the car was drunk and detained them, and then found that Ajmani’s blood-alcohol level was twice the normal limit.
Officers gave Ajmani a ride to his business in Berkeley. CHP alleges that he got into a car, headed onto the freeway, and crashed into another car, killing the 36-year-old driver.
