"AlbanyStreets," an itty-bitty version of "Sunday Streets" in San Francisco, will take place Aug 22 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The city will block off all of Key Route Boulevard (from Portland Avenue to Solano Avenue) so people can ride their bikes, roller skate, skate board or whatever form of motor-less transportation tickles their fancy.
There will also be a number of "street games" to join in. Here's the line-up so far:
- 4 Square East Bay: Thats right, game on!
- "Monkey Fitness" (Athletic Playground)
- "Jungle Fitness" (BeFit Stay Active Personal Training)
- Bay Trail Trikes: Try out a recumbant trike or bike!
- Street Hockey
- Dodge Ball
- Neighborhood-wide Water Balloon Toss
- Giant Hop Scotch
- DIY Sidewalk Art Gallery
- Wiffle Ball
- Block Party Musical Chairs
People are also encouraged to bring out their own games and activities.
