If America were standing in front of you, what questions would you ask her?
Would you attack, ignore, congratulate, forgive?
What if you looked up and saw that the person being called America was you?

Using Allen Ginsberg's poem "America" as inspiration, the Ragged Wing Youth Ensemble makes a direct address to our country in this show.  The story travels from an Oakland high school to a McDonald's to an Elvis-themed
chapel in Las Vegas. Along the way we meet a cowboy, an American Idol contestant, a cheeseburger addict, Miss America, and a bunch of kids who are gathering their courage to face the America that awaits them when they
graduate from high school.  Using American archetypes and their own inner experience of un-define-ability, these young artists show how each generation creates a new America while also being shaped by their past.
