Author Talk

Author Helen Betts will discuss her family's flight from wartime Vienna to Shanghai and beyond. Her parents settled in Chicago, where they then helped others escape the Nazis by providing documents and refuge. In 2007 Ms. Betts found letters from cousins, friends and her grandparents, who got as far as Shanghai, that document her family's history during World War II.
