"Blossoms and Thorns" Documentary Premiere and Forum

2 PM forum on documentary "Blossoms and Thorns: A Community Uprooted" looking at Japanese American flower growers in Richmond. KNTV reporter George Kiriyama talks with filmmaker Ken Kokka, documentary interviewees flower grower Flora Ninomiya and historian Donna Graves as well as Color Spot founder Mike Vukelich, Sr and grower Raymond Fujii.  The 18 minute documentary premieres at 1 pm, with scheduled screenings at 3pm and 3:30pm.  All events are at the Rosie the Riveter Visitors Center at 1414 Harbor Way South, Richmond, California.  

The event is co-sponsored by the Contra Costa JACL, the Rosie the Riveter World War II Home Front National Historical Park (National Park Service), the Rosie the Riveter Trust and the Richmond Arts and Culture Commission.

"Blossoms and Thorns" will become one of the films screened for free at the Rosie the Riveter Visitor Center.
