EBMMSC and Media Art Works Presents: George Larkin' "Speaking of Baghdad"

East Bay Media Makers Screening Club (EBMMSC), a program through Media Art Works (MAW), is pleased to announce George Larkin as the featured filmmaker at our next screening club event.  His short dramatic film, Speaking of Baghdad, will be screened on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at the Arlington Cafe (510-525-3900), located at 269 Arlington Avenue in Kensington, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.  Please join us for this unique opportunity to view the work of an active local filmmaker.  The audience is invited to participate in a discussion with George following the film.

George Larkin is a veteran of film and theater whose works have won multiple awards and have been selected for numerous prestigious venues domestically and abroad, including Amnesty International.  Speaking of Baghdad, his most recent and acclaimed film, features a renowned international cast from stage and screen performing stories about life during the war written by Iraqi writers in Baghdad.  The film gives viewers the chance to hear about the ongoing war from the perspective of Iraq’s own artists.  More information on Speaking of Baghdad and George Larkin can be found by viewing the trailer and visiting the filmmaker's website.

East Bay Media Makers Screening Club (EBMMSC) is a program of Media Art Works (MAW), a nonprofit organization providing support for East Bay filmmakers as they develop their art.  Through the screening club series, MAW provides public exposure and feedback opportunities for local filmmakers.  For more information about this event and other Media Art Works developments, follow our updates on Facebook and Twitter.  Submission inquiries and questions may be directed to Bianca Beyrouti, Program Administrator, at ebmmsc11@yahoo.com.
