ECHS Fundraising Gauchos Coffee Now Carried at Adorn & Flourish

Coffee roasted by Gauchos to benefit Gauchos available at a Gaucho’s store Adorn & Flourish now carrying Gauchos’ Coffee Shop Blend
Inspired by the Fall Theater Showcase piece “Coffee Shop Pantomine”, ECHS Supporters of the Performing Arts (SPA) worked with Mike McLaughlin, ECHS ’57, to roast coffee  for a limited ‘engagement’ to support the theatre program.

Mike and his wife and colleague, Barbara Marsicano McLaughlin (ECHS ’68) are Gauchos.  Born and raised in Kensington, Mike McLaughlin taught at Helms, Crespi, Kennedy and Portola before starting McLaughlin Coffee.
Gauchos Coffee Shop Blend is based on McLaughlin’s Max’s blend.  It was offered for sale before the ECHS Theatre Showcase held on May 18th, and now a limited supply is inventoried at “Adorn & Flourish” at 7027 Stockton Avenue, near Ashbury in El Cerrito, 367-8548.  Adorn & Flourish is owned by Kensington native and ECHS alum Kate Peterson .  The store carries jewelry, clothing and items for the home created by local craftsmen.

You can support local artisans and the ECHS theater program by shopping while you pick up your $10 bag of 12-ounce coffee in ground or whole bean.  Not a coffee drinker? You can mail a tax deductible donation to ECHS Supporters of the Performing Arts, PO BOX 2376 El Cerrito CA 94530. For more info email karenshebek@sbcglobal.net, or call weekdays at 510-525-1539.
