El Cerrito Art Association April Monthly Meeting

On Monday, April 8, the El Cerrito Art Association will be hosting a critique for member artists by Barbara Fracchia, a local plein air, landscape and figurative painter. All media may be presented for critique, but each artist may present only one piece due to time limitations.

Ms. Fracchia’s paintings are mostly figurative and landscapes. She painted plein air for many years and exhibited in local shows and galleries before furthering her education in traditional art. Her figurative paintings have won awards and have been published in American Art Collector and Fine Art Connoisseur. Her colorful paintings of hills and landmarks in Northern California landscapes are predominately painted in a plein air style. Humorously composed themes of Barbara’s ‘Fast Food and Its Consumption’ are the main subjects of her figurative paintings. Bay Area and East Coast cityscapes is another popular subject appearing in her paintings

Barbara belongs to Pleiades Gallery in New York, Montserrat Contemporary Art in New York, and the Allison McCrady Fine Arts Gallery in Orinda where her main body of paintings are shown. Her club affiliations are Oil Painters of America, Allied Artists of America (elected member), Salmagundi Club, American Artists Professional League, and California Art Club.
