Photographer Fletcher Oakes at El Cerrito Art Association Monthly Meeting

El Cerrito - On Monday, October 8, Photographer Fletcher Oakes will make a presentation that benefits both artist and photographer. He will tell us about his techniques of photographing artwork for the jurying process and creating award-winning photos, and explain the procedure and what is looked for when judging a photo.

Mr. Oakes has spent most of his adult life doing photography, film, and  collage. He has worked extensively with digital media, and currently teaches  digital art at Diablo Valley College. During his career, he has studied with some greats—including Ansel Adams, Imogene Cunningham and Jack Welpott.

For this program, Fletcher is requesting member participation. Bring in hard  copy photos that have been judged and awarded, photos that members think may be  award winning, and photos of art taken for purpose of jurying. Also, send digital copies of your unaltered photos to ECARTASSOCIATON@gmail.com  prior to October 1, to enable us to compile images for use on a digital projector.
