The Friends of the Kensington Library will hold its annual Fall Book Sale on Sunday, October 18 from 11am - 4pm in the parking lot of the Kensington Library at 61 Arlington Avenue.The sale coincides with the Kensington Parade and Picnic. The Friends of the Kensington Library, a 501c(3) nonprofit organization, works to improve library services in Kensington. Through membership donations and book sale earnings, the Friends provide the Library with funds to purchase roughly a quarter of its books. It also provides children's and cultural programs for the community, including music and poetry events, author talks, opera lectures, mystery nights, meet-your-neighbor programs, photo and poster contests, and art docent talks.
