Family Movie Under the Stars!
Kensington Community Council sponsors Family Movie Night on September 13th.
Look to the Stars!
September is always the best weather for star gazing in Kensington, and in that spirit, the Kensington Community Council will be showing Pixar’s Wall-E on Saturday, September 13th on the big lawn by KCC’s Building E. Thanks to generous help from Pixar Studios and our two local sponsors, Kensington’s Mechanics Bank and Marvin Gardens Real Estate, we will be sponsoring the second of our summer family movie nights out under the stars on a giant screen. The movie will start at 8:00 pm (dusk), but we are encouraging families to come at 7:00 with a picnic dinner (or purchase a hot dog dinner) and join neighbors and friends for the fun. Bring everything you will need to be comfortable in the evening air, especially jackets, blankets, and beach chairs.
The movie is free to everyone, but in the spirit of a fundraiser, the hope is that people will be generous with their donations. This year KCC will be selling hotdog or sausage dinners, popcorn, movie candy, bottled water, and coffee or hot chocolate as refreshments, and glow bracelets for the kids. A raffle will be held before the movie with prizes including a free KASEP class, Nations pies, and Pixar memorabilia. Raffle tickets will be sold at the KCC office from September 8th through the night of the event. Raffle tickets can be purchased - 5 tickets for $5 or 12 tickets for $10. For more information, call Marty at the KCC office at 525-0292.
