CA - The recreational Pacific halibut season begins today and this year it will include three holiday weekends, according to California Department of Fish and Wildlife officials.

The 2017 Pacific halibut quota for California is 34,580 pounds, roughly 5,000 pounds more than last year's quota, according to CDFW officials.
