Free Child Safety Seat Check-Ups Offered in El Cerrito
The events is scheduled for October 29, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Information submitted by El Cerrito Police:
The El Cerrito Police Department and El Cerrito/Kensington Fire Department are hosting a free child safety seat checkpoint at El Cerrito Plaza on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Properly installed child safety seats are critical for the survival of an infant or toddler involved in a car crash.
The John Muir Health Child Safety Coalition is sponsoring this local event. The event is free and no appointment is necessary. If possible, drivers should bring the car seat’s instructions. Having the child present is best. However, if this is not possible, the technicians will still able to check the car seat’s installation.

Drivers are responsible for proper installation of child safety seats. “If you have any concerns about the safety seat’s proper installation in your car, attend the free drop-in event on Wednesday, October 29, 2014, or call the El Cerrito Police Department Administrative Office during business hours at 510-215-4400 to schedule the inspection on another day,” said Suzanne Iarla, Community Outreach Specialist with the City of El Cerrito.
The City of El Cerrito has trained Child Safety Seat Technicians and offers assistance by appointment to El Cerrito and Kensington residents who have installation problems or are unsure if their child safety seat is properly installed.
