Come and hear Dr. Charles Tart give a free seminar on “In Search of Enlightenment and Knowledge; Highlights from the Life Journey a Transpersonal Para(Neuro)Psychologist. Part 1: From Lutheranism to the Rosicrucians.”
Dr. Tart is internationally known for his psychological work on the nature of consciousness (particularly, altered states of consciousness), as one of the founders of the field of transpersonal psychology, and for his research in parapsychology. He is a part-time executive faculty member at Sofia University and Professor Emeritus of Psychology at University of California Davis. He has authored over a dozen books, two of which became widely-used textbooks; he has had more than 250 articles published in professional journals and books, including lead articles in such prestigious scientific journals as Science and Nature, and provides regular public speaking appearances.
Professor Tart is also a student of the Japanese martial art of Aikido (in which he holds a black belt), of meditation, of Gurdjieff’s work, of Buddhism, and of other psychological and spiritual growth disciplines. His primary goal is to build bridges between the scientific and spiritual communities and to help bring about a refinement and integration of Western and Eastern approaches for knowing the world and for personal
and social growth.
