Linda Heiderer, writer and spiritual explorer, will talk about her extensive experience in the international spiritual community, Findhorn, in “Findhorn: A Spiritual Community in Northern Scotland.”

Findhorn is a spiritual community in northern Scotland, founded over fifty years ago to bring people together to transform human consciousness. In the early days, magnificent gardens were created in the barren stretch of land where the founders started the community. Cabbages grew to the size of beach balls out of sandy scrub that heretofore had been considered lifeless. People from all over he world heard about this magical place and moved there to help establish a new order. Today people from across the world come to Findhorn for spiritual growth and sustenance. Today the 500 permanent residents at Findhorn are joined by over 3000 yearly visitors who come for workshops or extended stays. Findhorn is a place where "new ways of thinking and being in the world have space to grow and where learning takes place naturally through the activities of daily life.” Meditation, Taize singing, and work assignments (called love in action) are part of the daily life at Findhorn. Participants are encouraged to develop inner listening and to connect with nature.

Come and join us in the Fireside Room of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Berkeley (UUCB), 1 Lawson Road (above the Arlington at Moeser, through Terrace and Craft), Kensington, CA 94707. Free.
