"HEAR WITH ME" 4 1-Act Plays by ECHS Students

ECHS Theater Presents "Hear With Me" May 8-10 Original High School Play Weaves Musical Themes into Teen's Stories

El Cerrito High School Theater Department presents “Hear With Me”, four one -act plays written by the Advanced Performance Ensemble share the premise of how music reveals us to ourselves, May 8-10th at ECHS Performing Arts Theater.
Carmen Bush’s advanced theater students started writing the plays in February, using a play-writing card game, and worked together to develop scenes, characters, and created the scripts, and directed themselves in the performances. Individual students have incorporated their own choreography and music into the program.
Technical Theater seniors Ruth Pace and Evan Martinez designed the set, sound and lighting design. The class helped build the set, working with Contra Costa Civic Theater costume and props staff to create the costumes.
In between the one- act plays, there are genre interludes that explain how these stories came to exist.
Showtimes are Friday May 8th at 7:30 pm, Saturday May 9th at 7:30, and a Sunday matinee on Mother’s Day, May 10th at 2:30 pm. Tickets are available at the door; $10 for adults, $5 for students and senior citizens, ECHS Performing Arts Theater, 540 Ashbury Avenue, El Cerrito CA.
