Bicycle Throng, with Zombies, Rolls Through El Cerrito

A multitude of normal-looking people and a few seeming zombies enjoyed a rolling party through El Cerrito on bicycles Friday night. It was the monthly East Bay Bike Party, with a Halloween theme.

We're happy to report that zombies may not be as dead as they claim.

A contingent of what had been advertised as a zombie aggregation was spotted taking refreshment at the in El Cerrito Friday night — behavior not normally observed among the walking dead.

In fact, appearances notwithstanding, the brief gathering was part of a larger throng of people enjoying the monthly East Bay Bike Party, whose costume theme this month was zombies. It appeared that many participants chose not to go in costume.

With spirits buoyed by the pleasant evening temperatures, the group ride began at the North Berkeley BART station about 8 p.m. and took a meandering route through North Berkeley into El Cerrito and Albany and back into Berkeley.
