Jamming With Kensington Marmalade Among the Flowers

Not your ordinary cooking demo. Cocktails made with local fruit and enough flowers to fill a florist's shop enriched the scene Saturday when Alexandra Eisler of Kensington Marmalade Co. gave a strawberry jam-making demonstration.

Flowerland in Albany was the place to be Saturday if you like an up-close demonstration of making strawberry jam while surrounded by flowers and sipping cocktails made with juice of fruits harvested from local backyards, like Baerss and Rangpur limes, and Marsh grapefruit.

Applying the master’s touch to the large pot and big wooden spoon was Alexandra Eisler of Kensington Marmalade Company, whose roots, yep, are in Kensington.  The recipe was there for the asking, so we can reveal the secret ingredients:
1. delicious ripe strawberries, and 2. Eureka lemons.

The attached photos by Doug Donaldson provide a glimpse of what it looked like, but you had to be there in person to smell how good it really was!
