Juvenile Bald Eagle At Point Pinole: Photo Of The Day

A bike ride at Point Pinole turned into a bird-watching expedition. According to a biologist, this is a 3-year-old bald eagle.

POINT PINOLE, CA — Piedmont resident Dave Rapson took a bike ride with his wife Ann at Pt. Pinole in Richmond. They spotted this bird in a eucalyptus tree overlooking San Francisco Bay. Dave captured this photo, and the couple watched as it flew away.

Ann tells Patch, "What a tremendous wing span! We confirmed the photos with a wildlife biologist. It is a three year old bald eagle!"
