Kensington Symphony Orchestra Presents: "An Evening on the Danube", Saturday, December 13 @ 8p.m.

Music from Vienna and Czechoslovakia during the romantic period of the Austro-Hungarian Empire: von Suppé, Dvořák, Ernst and Strauss Jr.!

For its 2014 Holiday Concert Program, the Kensington Symphony Orchestra will present “An Evening on the Danube.”

Music Director and Conductor Geoffrey Gallegos will begin the program with the Morning, Noon and Night Overture by Franz von Suppé. That will be followed by the rarely heard Violin Concerto in F-sharp minor (Pathétique) by Friedrich Wilhelm Ernst, featuring Joseph Gold, violin. After intermission, the orchestra will offer Four Slavonic Dances, Op. 46 & 72 by Antonin Dvořák, and the concert will conclude withOn The Beautiful Blue Danube” Waltz of Johann Strauss Jr.
