Local kung fu & tai chi school, Golden Lion Martial Arts, held annual tournament

Kung fu and tai chi students of the Plum Blossom Federation participated at Golden Lion's annual tournament, hosted at Albany Middle School

Local Albany kung fu and tai chi school, Golden Lion Martial Arts Academy, held its annual tournament on Saturday, May 21, 2016. Over 100 participants competed in kung fu and tai chi hand forms, weapon forms, push hands, weapon sparring, and sparring. Students performed and demonstrated immense power, focus, and determination letting all their hard training up to this event shine through.

Student Caleb W. suffered a minor toe injury during his sparring division, but once cleaned and bandaged up, he was determined to continue with his division. A true martial artist with an indomitable will jumped back into his division and won third place.

The students of Golden Lion Martial Arts Academy are truly filled with the martial arts spirit. It takes strength and courage to compete, and we are very proud of all the competitors!
