The man thought he was talking with a 14-year-old girl online, but was actually communicating with El Cerrito Police investigators.

EL CERRITO, CA — A Richmond resident, 46-year-old John Vinoya, is charged with arranging to meet a minor for sex, enticing a minor online, first degree burglary and attempted lewd acts with a child. He was arrested by El Cerrito Police last week.

ECPD reports, "In late July, Vinoya communicated with an undercover police officer, believing he was talking with a 14-year-old girl, and ultimately made an arrangement to meet that minor for sex at a residence in El Cerrito." Instead, he was met by ECPD detectives and investigators from the Contra Costa County Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Vinoya is charged with five folonies and is being held on $325,000 bail.
