Girlfriend Arrested in Fatal Stabbing of Man in Point Richmond
Police have not yet released the victim's name.
A 37-year-old woman has been arrested after allegedly stabbing her boyfriend to death in Richmond's Point Richmond neighborhood early this morning, a police spokeswoman said.
The woman, whose name is not yet being released, called 911 around 4:30 a.m. to report an unresponsive man inside a home in the 500 block of Tewksbury Avenue, where emergency responders found the 36-year-old victim, Richmond police Sgt. Nicole Abetkov said.
Paramedics noticed that the man had a stab wound to his abdomen and called police, Abetkov said. Medical personnel performed CPR on the victim but he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The 37-year-old woman who called 911 was questioned by investigators and later arrested on suspicion of the killing, Abetkov said. Police determined the woman was the victim's girlfriend and that the stabbing may have stemmed from some sort of domestic dispute fueled by alcohol, according to Abetkov.
The victim's name is not being released until his family members are notified of his death, she said.
