Mar 12: Free Seminar by the new Senior UUCB Co-Minister Rev. Christian Schmidt.

Come and hear the Reverend Christian Schmidt, the new-Senior Co-minister of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Berkeley (UUCB), discuss "Detoxifying Masculinity." The Rev. Schmidt has a Masters of Divinity from Andover Newton Divinity School; he is a Unitarian Universalist, a father and a Humanist. He blogs: "How can we support the healthy growth and development of boys and men? In a world that pushes a view of masculinity that constricts the way men are "allowed" to be and act, and simultaneously hurts both those men and all other people, presenting a positive view of what masculinity can and should look like, should be an important part of what we do at church." In “Detoxifying Masculinity,” the Rev. Schmidt will talk about his own experiences of growing up as a male, and how churches can support the development of healthy men and boys.
