Mentor a student and help them earn a high school diploma!

Make a difference in someone’s life. LEAP, the Richmond Public Library’s Adult Education Program, is seeking volunteers to tutor / mentor students through an Online High School Diploma Program.

Job Description: Mentors / Tutors will attend weekly in-person meetings with adults who are pursuing their high school diploma. At the meetings, mentors will check-in with students, assist with content, and offer support. Mentors/ Tutors will monitor attendance through the online dashboard and inform LEAP staff of student’s progress. Finally, volunteers will work the volunteer coordinator to find additional support and assist students who are having difficulties.

When: The Diploma Program will begin in March 2016 and volunteers are needed now to begin orientation and training (contact volunteer coordinator John Adams to find out more).


This is a great opportunity to make a difference in a student’s life. The Online Diploma Program offers adults the opportunity to complete their high school education and gain career training through a self-paced, supportive, and accredited online program.
