New non-profit looking to stomp out hunger in Richmond!
Last week local business owner Nathan Coletrivers announced his new non-profit, Let's Grow Richmond. The non-profit is designed to end hunger in Richmond.
Local business owner Nathan Trivers announced last Saturday at the 11th Annual Refinery BBQ the start of his new non-profit, Let’s Grow Richmond. Let’s Grow Richmond is a two-part initiative: collect non-perishable food donations and grow fresh produce for the impoverished of Richmond.
Residents of Richmond will be able to register to receive a free green “Let’s Grow Richmond” tote bag. The tote bag will be used for collecting non-perishable canned food. The non-profit will pick up bags full of food on designated pick up days and replace the full bags with empty ones.
The second way residents can volunteer is by allowing the non-profit to use their yards to grow fresh produce. Residents who volunteer in this way will benefit themselves by receiving free, fresh produce to eat.

Trivers, who owns the Up and Under in Point Richmond, is looking to acquire the land across the street on Richmond Ave. The land will be used as a main garden for growing produce. Currently Let’s Grow Richmond has 100 plants in the ground and is looking to plant another 300.
Let’s Grow Richmond’s first pick up is scheduled for October. If you would like to volunteer or would like to know more please contact Nathan Trivers at letsgrowrichmond@gmail.com
