Oakland Woman with Child Passenger Arrested for DUI After Hit-And-Run
Michelle Toussant, 39, was visibly drunk when officers arrested her at a Richmond gas station on Sunday night.

An Oakland woman was arrested in Richmond on Sunday night after she allegedly crashed into parked cars and fled the scene with a child in her car, police said today. Michelle Toussant, 39, was visibly drunk when officers arrested her at a gas station at the intersection of Carlson Boulevard and Imperial Avenue a short time after 9 p.m. Sunday, Richmond police Lt. Andre Hill said.
“She was intoxicated to the point where she was very belligerent and uncooperative with the officers,” Hill said. A 7-year-old child inside Toussant’s car was released to the custody of a family member and was unharmed when the suspect allegedly crashed into two parked vehicles on Carl Avenue near Carlson Boulevard, Hill said.
He said a woman who saw the suspect crash into her parked car was able to get into another vehicle and followed the suspect, who stopped at the gas station. The woman called 911 and officers arrived at the gas station a short time later.
