Pedestrian Killed By Train In North Richmond

BREAKING: Amtrak and Capitol Corridor service is impacted. The CHP is investigating.

RICHMOND, CA — A pedestrian was struck and killed by an Amtrak train in unincorporated North Richmond this morning, according to the transit agency.

California Highway Patrol officers responded at 10:49 a.m. to the reported collision in the area of Market Avenue and Soto Street, but the CHP is not investigating the case.

Capitol Corridor officials wrote on Twitter that the case involved a train on Amtrak's San Joaquin route and is also affecting Capitol Corridor trains No. 531 and 535.
