Police Looking for Suspect Who Robbed, Injured Elderly Woman

The 87-year-old woman suffered a broken hip during the attack on July 5.

Police in Richmond are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect who earlier this month robbed an 87-year-old woman and pushed her to the ground, leaving her with a broken hip.

The robbery happened around 6:45 p.m. on July 5 when the victim was withdrawing money at an ATM at the Mechanics Bank at 4 W. Richmond Ave. in the Point Richmond area, police Sgt. Nicole Abetkov said.

As the victim took the cash from the machine, a woman approached and pushed her to the ground. The suspect then grabbed the money from the victim and got into the front passenger seat of a waiting car that fled the area, Abetkov said.
