Clay Jensen will make a presentation on his sand cast bronze sculpture at the El Cerrito Art Association meeting at 7:00 pm on June 13 in the Garden Room of the El Cerrito Community Center.

He will show a short video of a studio bronze pour. He is a process/material based artist and teacher who will be showing images of both the work and the way it is made.

Peter Voulkos and Marylin Levine were mentors and lifelong friends whose work in abstract ways followed traditional clay roots of pottery – vessel and container.

Clay Jensen has exhibited his work in galleries and museums throughout the United States. He has numerous works in public and private collections internationally.

He received a National Endowments for the Arts Apprenticeship Grant as well as the SECA Award from the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. His work has been published and reviewed extensively in major periodicals and publications. He has taught sculpture at the University of California at Berkeley, San Jose State University, University of Montana and the University of Utah.

The June 13 meeting will be held in the Garden Room of the El Cerrito Community Center, 7007 Moeser Lane, El Cerrito. The evening begins at 7:00 pm with social time and a “mini art show” of members’ work. A brief business meeting is held at 7:30, followed by the speaker.

El Cerrito Art Association meetings are open to the public, and visitors and new members are always welcome. For further information about this program, contact Barbara Daniell at 510-277-6996 or bdaniell1943@gmail.com. For more information about the Association, see www.elcerritoart.org.
