Richmond Gang Member Sentenced to 40 Years to Life in Prison for 2012 Attempted Murder

Antoine Mims, 22, was reportedly affiliated with Central Richmond's Deep C gang, prosecutors said.

An alleged Richmond gang member was sentenced Friday in a Martinez courtroom to 40 years to life in prison for a 2012 shooting that wounded two people, according to prosecutors. Reportedly affiliated with Central Richmond’s Deep C gang, 22-year-old Antoine Mims was on probation in connection with a previous shooting when he shot two people who later recovered in July 2012, prosecutors said.

A Contra Costa County Superior Court jury found Mims guilty in 2014 of two counts of attempted murder, with enhancements for using a firearm and for being a gang member, according to prosecutors. He was initially scheduled to be formally sentenced in 2014 but had his sentencing date postponed a number of times.
