Santa Fe Union Park Grand Opening This Saturday

The Santa Fe Union Park in Richmond has been transformed from a neighborhood eyesore into a vibrant park where people of all ages can enjoy new basketball and futsal (soccer) courts, children’s play areas and a seating area.

The Grand Opening for the park will be held this Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. Expect free refreshments, and giveaways.

The park is located at South 2nd and Maine Streets, between Florida and Maine, in Richmond.

Nonprofit ‘For Richmond’backed the project. “For Richmond is honored to collaborate with our partners on the Santa Fe Union Park project and welcomes the community to join us in celebrating its official opening,” said Kyra Worthy, executive director of For Richmond. “We believe in the power of this revitalized park—that’s named for its neighborhood and builders—to not only transform a locality, but also the lives of the people who dwell there.”

Everyone is welcome to attend, but please RSVP so they don’t run out of food.
