Update: Shooting in Front of El Cerrito High School; School Lockdown Lifted
Police are actively hunting for suspects.

Update:
Police have lifted a lockdown at El Cerrito High School after a person was injured in a shooting this afternoon in front of the school, El Cerrito police said.
Students were released to go home at 5:05 p.m. The students have been directed to leave through the Eureka Avenue exit. Police are still at the scene and one suspect is still at large.

Police reported the shooting in front of the school at 540 Ashbury Avenue at about 4:10 p.m. Police said the injured is in stable condition.
Officers cordoned off an eight-block radius around the school, closing it to all pedestrian and vehicular traffic, while they searched for suspects.

One person was injured in a shooting in front of El Cerrito High School this afternoon and an eight-block radius around the school is closed to all vehicular and pedestrian traffic, police said.
Police said the victim is in stable condition but said the suspect is still at large.
Details about the victim’s injuries or identity were not immediately available.
Police reported the incident shortly after 4 p.m. and said the shooting took place in front of El Cerrito High School, located at 540 Ashbury Ave.
Police said they believe the suspect is hiding in the neighborhood west of the school and have cordoned off the area. Students at the high school are on lockdown, where police said they are safe.
Police said the students would be released once the search is complete. No further information was immediately available.
