Drivers Angered By I-80 Closure Following Shooting
The eastbound direction was completely shut down for more than five hours, destroying the evening commute.

RICHMOND, CA - All eastbound lanes of I-80 were closed in Richmond for more than five hours Thursday as the CHP investigated a car-to-car shooting that left two people seriously wounded. The closure started at 3:30 p.m. and traffic was not allowed to flow again until nearly 9 p.m., wiping out the entire evening rush hour.
Also wiped out by the closure - the patience of drivers. They took to social media to vent their frustrations. Catherine, @LivingVegan3675 wrote, "Such cowardice and disregard for life. So sad. (Pray) for the victims of this shooting and all victims of violence!"
On Facebook, Kim Touray wrote, "I hope that these people one day consider the fact that hospice nurses are on the road and trying to make their way to see other people in need of care. Not forgetting parents trying to get home to their children."
