Smoke Closes West Contra Costa Schools Thursday
And the smart parent starts lining up potential child care for Friday now.

EL CERRITO, CA — All schools in the West Contra Costa Unified School District will be closed on Thursday, October 12, the district announced Wednesday night.
The cause: rapidly deteriorating air quality caused by the fires burning in Solano, Sonoma and Napa counties.
All school activities including athletic events and practices are also cancelled.
