Swim A Mile for Women with Cancer!

Local swimmers support women facing cancer -- October 3-4, 2015

Everyone is welcome at the 20th annual Swim A Mile for Women with Cancer, October 3-4 at the Mills College Pool!

The Swim A Mile is non-competitive and lots of fun, with room for swimmers and water-walkers of all ages and fitness levels. More than 600 swimmers, some of them in treatment themselves, come together to have fun and raise funds for a fantastic, local community organization.

Proceeds benefit the Women’s Cancer Resource Center (http://www.wcrc.org) in Oakland. WCRC creates opportunities for women with cancer to improve their quality of life through education, supportive services and practical assistance. The Center serves more than 5,000 clients each year in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. Programs include cancer navigation, emergency financial assistance, psychotherapy, support groups, in-home support, and health and wellness programs such as yoga, nutrition, and art.
