Trio Arrested After Robbery, Pursuit into San Francisco
The chase started in Richmond after 3 shotgun-wielding suspects robbed a man, police officials said

Two men and a juvenile were arrested Tuesday morning in connection with an armed robbery and subsequent police pursuit that started in Richmond and ended in San Francisco, police said Wednesday. Officers responded at 1:45 a.m. Tuesday to a report of an armed robbery that had just occurred in the 3000 block of Shane Drive, Richmond police Sgt. Nicole Abetkov said.
Abetkov said the three suspects approached the victim with what appeared to be a sawed-off shotgun and then took cash and other personal items from him. The victim was able to provide a general description of the suspects and suspect vehicle, Abetkov said. As officers were getting information from the victim, an El Cerrito police officer saw the suspect vehicle traveling west on Interstate Highway 80, Abetkov said.
The El Cerrito officer began following the car before Richmond police joined in the pursuit. Abetkov said officers followed the car until it took the off-ramp for Fremont Street in San Francisco, where officers were able to apprehend the suspects. Officers recovered a short-barrel .22-caliber rifle and all of the victim’s belongings in the car, Abetkov said.
