Semifreddi's Bakery first opened in Kensington (near Berkeley) in 1984. It was purchased from the founders in 1987, and the current owners built it into the bakery it is today.
Semifreddi's wholesale operation moved from its most recent location in Emeryville to Alameda about a year and a half ago. We took a tour with co-owner Tom Frainier.
