Visions for Vacancies: Former Party Warehouse

What would you like to see fill the vacancy at the former Party Warehouse?

The Party Warehouse on San Pablo has been vacant since January 2011. What would you like to see here?

The owner actually requested that I hold off on writing about this space a couple of months ago since they were in negotiations with a national chain for this spot. However, they couldn’t come to an agreement and the deal fell through. I talked at length with the broker and the way I understand it is the tenant wanted the owner to pay for all the leasehold improvements but wouldn’t sign a lease long enough for him to make a return on the investment.

The broker said he gets a lot of inquiries on this space but many of the parties aren’t really serious or aren’t remotely qualified. He says many of the interested parties won’t even share basic personal information or their financial history, not unlike what’s required when renting an apartment.

Perhaps with El Cerrito Natural Grocery expanding it might bring more interest from businesses to this part of San Pablo Ave.
