At Bark For Life of El Cerrito canines and their human caregivers walking or running around a track at Point Isabel Regional Shoreline to raise funds for the fight against cancer. The event is an opportunity presents an opportunity for people to be empowered through their canine companion partnerships and to contribute to cancer cures through the mission of the American Cancer Society. Bark volunteers help with registration, logistics, participant support, asking for donation, and other unique opportunities. No matter how many hours you have available, we need your help! Bark For Life’s volunteer-driven model help make it the most successful fundraising event in the world. Some volunteers may be required to do heavy lifting, driving, crafts, and/or talk to the public depending on the volunteer assignment. Volunteers under the age 18 need their parent or guardian to fill out the volunteer registration form before they can volunteer; volunteers under the age of 14 need their parent or guardian to volunteer with then. Only registered participants are able to be at the event between sunset and sunrise (volunteers under the age of 18 also need a parent, guardian, or chaperone with them). Volunteer registration forms are required for all volunteer who will be volunteering for the Relay For Life event, Bark for Life event, or need to turn any documentation confirming their volunteer time.

Volunteer opportunities include:
• Assist at the Registration Tent (9:15am-1:00pm)
• Assist at the Survivor & Caregiver Tent (10:00am-1:00pm)
• Assist at the Canine Corner Tent (10:00am-1:00pm)
• Assist at the Fight Cancer Tent (10:00am-1:00pm)
• Set-Up Crew: heavy lifting maybe required (6:00am-10:00am)
• Break-Down Crew: heavy lifting maybe required (1:00pm-4:00pm)
You are welcome to volunteer for just a few hours or the entire time (you are also welcome to join the event, but please do not bring your dog). Please make sure to let us know what volunteer position(s) you are more interested in and what times you would like to volunteer. Great for families, groups, and those who need to complete a LOT of community service hours in a short amount of time. All volunteer opportunities are at Point Isabel Regional Shoreline (2701 Isabel Street, Richmond, CA 94804); set-up crew, break-down crew, and delivery driver may travel within El Cerrito to obtain event supplies.
