What Would You Like to See at Guitar Center Space?

One of El Cerrito's prominent vacancies is the former Guitar Center on San Pablo Avenue. We'd like to ask our readers to help suggest ideas for what could go in that space.

Consider this a modern spin on community planning – Patch's version of a quick reader brainstorming session, an online drawing board where all ideas are on the table.

We call it "Visions for Vacancies," a feature that asks you, our readers, what would be a good use for a particular vacant building in El Cerrito or Kensington.

For this installment, we're seeking ideas for the former Guitar Center on San Pablo Avenue at Eureka Avenue. It's a big space – 12,000 square feet on the main floor – and it's been empty since Feb. 2 when the business moved to Emeryville. Somewhat ironically just a week before, on Jan. 26, the El Cerrito Chamber of Commerce opened its new office directly across the street from the Guitar Center's now locked doors.
